What does GOTS certification mean ?

GOTS logo

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is a reference that defines criteria for qualifying textiles as organic. This ranges from raw material harvesting to ecologically and socially responsible manufacturing, to labeling. GOTS allows full traceability of cotton in all stages.

Products made from organic cotton are commonly available on the market. This means that cotton from which these fabric are made is organic in the sense of organic farming. That says nothing about the process of spinning, weaving and dyeing. There are also no social and ethical aspects taken into account.

On the contrary, GOTS certified fabrics guarantee that from the organic cotton farming to the fabric, the whole production chain is ecological and responsible. This is particularly important regarding the processing and dyeing of the cotton after harvesting.

Ott System only uses GOTS certified cotton fabrics. In addition, cotton fabrics are unbleached and undyed.
